⚠️ Scam Email Warning – Please Stay Alert |
Dear Resident We are reminding residents to be vigilant following reports of scam emails asking for money. These emails are designed to trick people into sending payments or sharing personal information. How the scam works Scam emails may: Claim to be from a trusted organisation (banks, delivery companies, energy suppliers, HMRC, or even friends/family) They say there is an urgent problem or request immediate payment Include links or attachments that look genuine but are not. They ask for bank details, passwords, or one-off payments.
How to protect yourself: Do not click on links or open attachments from unexpected emails. Be cautious of messages that create urgency or pressure Check the sender’s email address carefully – scammers often use slight variations. Never share personal or financial information by email If in doubt, contact the organisation directly using a trusted phone number or website. If you think you may have been scammed? Stop all contact with the sender immediately Contact your bank straight away if you’ve sent money or shared details Report the incident to Action Fraud, the UK’s national fraud reporting centre: 👉 Report fraud online: UK's Home for Reporting Cyber Crime & Fraud - Report Fraud If you feel at risk or are unsure what to do, seek advice from a trusted friend, family member, or local support services. Sharing this information helps keep our community safe.
Please pass it on to friends, family, and neighbours—especially those who may be more vulnerable
